PURPOSE:To facilitate the versatility of held tone melody, the adjustment of sound volume and the improvement of sound quality by providing a connection terminal connectable to an output section of an external acoustic electric signal generator to a telephone set. CONSTITUTION:A telephone set 10 is provided with a connection terminal 18, which is made connectable to a headphone connection section 22 as an output section from a radio section 20 and a tape recorder section 21 provided to a cassette tape recorder 19 with a radio set as an external acoustic electric signal generator. Further, a holding switch 14 connects a talking circuit 15 or the connection terminal 18 selectively to a telephone line 11 and an attenuator 23 sends an acoustic output of the cassette tape recorder 19 with a radio set to the telephone line 11 at a proper level.
