PURPOSE:To quicken the changeover of a communication system by using a private line other than a high speed digital line of a fault takes place in the communication system in use so as to apply remote control to the communica tion system being an object of communication, switching the system from the communication system having a fault into other idle communication system for the transmission of information. CONSTITUTION:If a fault takes place in a low speed line 11 or an active line 14 of the communication system in use, a point 12 being the sending side at present, a console 18 changes an information bit of a sending data of a high speed channel and controls a remote controller 33 to switch a changeover equip ment 13 to the position of a standby line 15, the information bit of the reception data at the high speed channel at a point 22 is changed by a remote controller 34 and the switching of a changeover device 29 to the position of a standby line 28 is commanded and executed. Thus, the changeover operation is attained in the standby communication system without manual operation at the point 22 and the transmission of the information with the opposite communication party is started again after the end of switching operation.
