PURPOSE:To obtain an ink roll type two-color printer capable of achieving a highly accurate color changeover with a simple construction, by providing a type wheel with a switching cam having first and second cam grooves differing in phase in the axial and circumferential directions and a roll support having first and second cam pawls opposed respectively to the cam grooves. CONSTITUTION:A type wheel 5 is rotated in a predetermined direction under the condition where a projection 21 of a driving pawl 20 is engaged into a notched part 3 or 4 of a driving shaft 2. A switching cam 65 is also rotated to a predetermined position as one body with the type wheel in the outermost row, and during one revolution of the cam 65, a first ink roll 59 is pressed against a first type 7 while a second ink roll 60 is pressed against a second type 7'. When desired inks are applied to the types during the first one-half revolution of the driving shaft 2, the type wheel 5 is stopped at a desired position, and the desired type 7, 7' is selectively located at a printing position opposed to a hammer 47.
