PURPOSE:To make it possible to sharply detect a carcinogenic substance, by treating the B-lymphoid cell stock from a patient of a Bloom's syndrome (BS) with a substance to be certified. CONSTITUTION:As the B-lymphoid cell stock from a BS patient, a cell line of a bicellular generation in the presence of bromodeoxyuridine (Brdu) is used. By changing the concn. of Brdu from usual 5-10mug/ml to 0.2mug/l, the sister chromatid exchange (SCE) frequency of the background of the LB-lymphoid cell line can be lowered, for example, from 70SCE frequency at 10mug/m to about 20SCE frequency. Therefore, the relative difference with the SCE frequency of the B-lymphoid cell stock when a substance to be certified was treated becomes large and the sharp detection of a carcinogenic substance is enabled.
