PURPOSE:To reduce pressure drop and to enhance the dust collecting efficiency by making a narrow width part of the throat of a venturi scrubber type dust collector such a structure that the shape of a flow face has a slender rectangular cross-section. CONSTITUTION:A washing dust collector is constituted so that dust-laden gas is sent into a throat part 2 through a gas introducing duct 1, and simultaneously water is passed to a water supply pipe 6 and washing water is injected toward a narrow width part 4 through the spray nozzles 7. The throat 2 consists of an introduction part 3 having a reverse trapezoidal shape in cross section, a narrow part 4 narrowed to proper width and a discharge part 5, and is constituted in an elongated shape extending slendery in the direction of the duct 1. Therefore in the dust-laden gas introduced through the duct, the flow rate thereof can be uniformly distributed in the elengthwise direction and the uniform dispersion of washing water injected through the spray nozzles 7 in all faces is easily performed.
