The device (12) is further provided with: a means (35) for removing, from the image, pixel information serving as the background of a substance present in the region of interest; and a means (35) for computing, on the basis of the discrete values for each of the pixels and each of the energy regions of the X-rays within the region of interest, transmission characteristics inherent to the X-rays of the substance as inherent information for each of the pixels.
