Provided is a power conversion device in which a charging unit can be miniaturized. Each phase comprises the following: a positive-side phase arm which is connected to a DC positive-side terminal and which is formed by the multi-stage connection of chopper cells that each include a switching element and a capacitor; a negative-side phase arm which is connected to a DC negative-side terminal and which is formed by the multi-stage connection of chopper cells that each include a switching element and a capacitor; a three-winding transformer which is connected between the positive-side phase arm and the negative-side phase arm; and a plurality of charging units in which a charging resistor and a disconnector are connected in parallel. The three-winding transformer includes a secondary winding which is connected to the positive-side phase arm, and a tertiary winding which is connected to the negative-side phase arm. The negative polarity-side of the secondary winding and of the tertiary winding are mutually connected between each phase or three phases. The charging units are connected between the positive-side phase arm and the secondary winding, or between the negative-side phase arm and the tertiary winding. |
