PURPOSE:To prevent a cover main unit from protruding to the front, by deforming an axial supporter and moving a supporting axis of a hinge, which supports the engine cover main unit, so that the cover main unit actuates a stopper member to make stopping effect, in the case of a head-on collision or the like of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An engine cover main unit 1 mounts a hinge arm 4 to a stretch part 3 while forms an engaging hole 14, which inserts a hook 15 provided in a car body panel 6, in the part 3. Here a holding hole 19 is formed in a rear end part of the hinge arm 4, further the holding hole 19 is constituted of a movement permissible hole part 16 and a turning hole part 18. And an axial supporter 17 is provided between the above described hole parts 16, 18, further each boss part 9a, 10a of each collar 9, 10, for a supporting axis 8 to be inserted, is inserted into the turning hole part 18. In this way, since the supporting axis 8 and each collar 9, 10 ride over the axial supporter 17 moving to the movement permissible hole part 16 when an impact is generated, the engine cover main unit 1 is prevented from moving to the front by engaging the hook 15 with the engaging hole 14.
