PURPOSE:To realize a circuit with a multi-digit shifter only by setting optionally a shifting quantity and corresponding various two-dimensional address spaces with the different ratio of the size of one direction and other direction to one- dimensional address space expressed by the constant number of the digit. CONSTITUTION:An X direction address and a Y direction address are inputted to a numeric value converting circuit 4, conversion is executed and the data of 18 bits composed of the data corresponding to a Y direction address (y) and the data corresponding to an X direction address (x) are outputted. The data obtained by the circuit 4 are shifted in accordance with the value added from the external part to a shifting quantity supplying terminal by a multi-digit shifter 1 of an input 18 bit and an output 10 bit and the output 10 bit is used as the one-dimensional address of a memory circuit 2. By setting the shifting quantity as a parameter, the ratio of the X direction and the Y direction can be easily changed. Since conversion can be realized by a multi-digit shifter only, it can be realized by a small circuit scale and the time necessary to an address conversion is also the gate delay only accompanying the multi-digit shifting.
