PURPOSE:To reduce an internal stress and increase a life by providing a metal expansion preventing part which covers a shoulder part and prevents the thermal expansion in the radial direction of a contact part. CONSTITUTION:A roller 10 for a linear material consists of a resin part 11, a whole bracket 12, and a sub-bracket 13. When using the roller 10 with a linear material being applied to a contact part 14, the contact part 14 is subjected to thermal expansion due to a friction heat and its radius is liable to expand. However, since shoulder part 15, 15 which are formed in an integrated form with the contact part 14 are strongly suppressed by metal expansion preventing members 17, 18, the deformation of the resin part 11 is slight, without causing a complex internal stress, and obtaining a long life.
