发明名称 CUTTING TOOL MADE OF SURFACE COATED HARD ALLOY
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a cutting tool made of a surface coated hard alloy having excellent resistance to exfoliation and wear by coating the carbide, nitride or oxide of Ti, Zr, and Hf and Al2O3 via an Hf or Hf alloy layer onto the surface of a hard material such as WC sintered hard alloy, TiC cermet or high speed steel. CONSTITUTION:The layer of the metallic Hf or Hf-Zr alloy having 0.1-1mum average layer thickness is formed by a physical vapor deposition method on the surface of the cutting tool produced of the WC sintered hard alloy, TiC cermet or high speed steel. 1 or >=2 kinds among the hard layers of the carbide, nitride, carbonitride, carboxide and carbonitroxide of Ti, Zr and Hf as well as Al2O3, etc., are then coated to 0.5-12mum thickness in total thereon. The adhesiveness between the base material and hard coating layer of the hard cutting tools is improved by the intervention of the Hf or Hf alloy by which the service life of the cutting tool is extended without the exfoliation of the hard coating layer.
