PURPOSE:To speed up data I/O processing and to improve the efficiency of the processing by filing data by simple and rapid processing at the input of the data and then processing the filed data as file data with higher levels successively in accordance with a prescribed schedule. CONSTITUTION:At the initial stage, data retrieval is executed by using a key word relating to the contents of a graphic. When the data retrieval is failed, the data retrieval is repeated by using the kinds of characters and graphics appearing in the graphic and the numbers of the characters and graphics as key words. When the data retrieval is failed even at the level, data retrieval is executed by using the appearance frequency of vectors as the key words. Consequently, compression data can be obtained with higher levels gradually in accordance with data compressing processing and the compressed and filed data can be highly efficiently retrieved.
