PURPOSE:To eliminate a holing in a printing paper, printing inferiority such as ghost and the abrasion of a type, by changing the processing center of the type radius of the type contacted with a platen, which mounts printing paper to perform printing, under pressure corresponding to the distance of each type from the center of a type wheel. CONSTITUTION:Because a type 4a is molded so as to have a radius RF around one point O1 being a processing center on a base line L1, a gap a1 is generated between the lower end of the type 4a and a platen unit 8a. Therefore, in order to perform perfect transfer, transfer pressure is increased to allow the upper part of the type 4a to sink in the platen unit 8a over the distance corresponding to the gap a1 so as to bring the gap a1 to zero. Now, if the processing center of the type radius is moved by the distance (d) from the point O1 to be brought to an upper point O2 and the type is molded so as to have the type radius RF, the type 4a becomes thick by an oblique line part around a line L2 and the gap with the platen unit 8a comes to a2 and becomes small as compared with the gap a1 and, therefore, the sinking quantity of the type 4a gets small.
