PURPOSE:To smoothly convey sheets of paper having different dimensions by judging the face or back and the length of a sheet of paper, separating a sheet of paper which required inversion at a gate, and inverting said paper by an inverting mechanism in which a stopper is provided on a position corresponding to the judged dimension. CONSTITUTION:A sheets of paper 11 is inserted from the arrow 14 and the face of back and the length in the conveying direction of the paper are detected by sensros 8a, 8b. When the sheet of paper 11 is faced up, a gate 13 is rotated in the position of the dashed line to convey the paper as shown by the arrows 16, 17. When a sheet of paper is faced down, the gate 13 is in the position of the solid line and the sheet of paper is conveyed by an endless belt 15 and enters between the side plates 4, 5 of an inverting case. A stopper 6 is moved forth and back by a control part 12 based on the output of the sensors 8a, 8b to make the rear end of the sheet of paper 11 positioned at an impeller 1'. And, the sheet of paper 11 is conveyed in the direction of the arrow 17 by means of the impeller. Thereby, sheets of paper with different dimensions can be smoothly conveyed, preventing the occurrence of jamming.
