PURPOSE:To obtain a constant liquid crystal cell effective voltage independently of scanning lines even if voltage applied to the liquid crystal cells is changed in each scanning line at the switching of a field by impressing a different voltage corresponding to the variation of the effective voltage to the common electrode of the cells in each scanning line. CONSTITUTION:A different voltage corresponding to the variation of the liquid crystal cell effective voltage which may be generated at the switching of a field is impressed to one electrode of respective liquid crystal cells 411-41n on the same scanning lines G1-Gn in common. An earth side terminal 7a is formed on a position of a common electrode 7 which is corresponding to the 1st scanning line of the uppermost part of a screen and a power supply side terminal 7b is formed on a position corresponding to the N-th scanning line of the lowermost part of the screen. Since the common electrode 7 itself constituted of an ITO can be regarded as one resistor, it is equivalently treated that resistors having the same resistance value are practically connected to liquid crystal common electrodes 71-7N of the 1st-N-th scanning lines and a voltage Vc is impressed to the common electrode 7N by impressing the voltage Vc between the earth side terminal 7a and the power supply side terminal 7b.
