PURPOSE:To reduce a pressure applied on the peripheral edge of a piezoelectric body in a surface direction, by enclosing the outer peripheral edge of a piezoelectric plate with a peripheral edge frame body having almost the same thickness as that of the piezoelectric plate, and generating a buffering ambient area, such as an air layer, etc., between the peripheral edge of the piezoelectric body and the inner edge of the frame body. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2 are formed at upper and lower sides, and buffering ambient areas 11 and 13, such as the air layer, or a foaming material layer, etc., are generated between the peripheral edge of the piezoelectric plate and the inner edge of a frame body 10, enclosing the outer peripheral edge of a piezoelectric plate 1 polarized in a thickness direction, and a peripheral edge frame body 10 having almost the same thickness as that of the piezoelectric plate 1. And the upper and lower outer surfaces of the frame body 10 and the piezoelectric plate 1 are covered with a resin 12. By constituting a device in such a way, the influence on the peripheral edge of the piezoelectric body 1 by the pressure can be eliminated by the buffering ambient areas 11 and 13, even when the pressure in the surface direction from the peripheral edge of a piezoelectric sound wave transmitting/receiving sheet is applied.
