PURPOSE:To prevent color mixture, by forming an ultraviolet absorbing film coherently on an inner surface except a face panel in advance, when a phosphor screen of the specified pattern is formed on an inner surface of a bulb face panel including the face panel and a funnel. CONSTITUTION:A bulb 11 consists of a face panel 12, a funnel 13 and a neck 14, and a positive type photosensitive resist material is applied to an inner surface of this bulb 11 in thickness of about 1.0mum by means of a spin-coat process, drying it, and a photosensitive resist film 16 is coated. An ultraviolet absorbent, for example, solution consisting of 2-hydroxybenzophenone 3.0 wt%, acrylate resin 5.0 wt% and the toluene remainder is applied to the inner surface of the bulb 11where the photosensitive resist film 16 is coated in thickness of about 2.0mum by means of the spin-coat process and, after drying it, an ultraviolet absorbing film 17 is coated there. With this constituion, ultraviolet reflection from the part other than the desired phosphor screen forming part, for example, from the funnel and the neck is checked, so that prevention of color mixture in a color picture tube becomes facilitated.
