PURPOSE:To easily synthesize two originals, and to transmit them as a bit of image information, by magnifying the quantity of a bit of temporarily accumulated image information almost to the size of a sheet of original by a temporary memory and a merge circuit, and storing the bit of image information to be synthesized in advance in a frame memory. CONSTITUTION:The binary-coded image signal (a) of the first original read at a read part 2 by the original read request signal 12 of a terminal control part l, is inputted to a line buffer 3, and its output signal (b) is changed to an image signal (c) at a coding part 4 by a temporary save request signal 141, then being stored on a temporary memory 5. Naxt, a decoding Part 6 fetches a coded image signal (d) from the memory 5 by a restoration request signal 16, and a decoded image signal (e) is stored at a frame memory 7. A bit of stored information is outputted as an output signal (f) based on an output request 17. Also, the image signal (g) of the second original is outputted from the read part 2 by the original read request signal 12. The product sum of those signals (f) and (g) is taken at a merge circuit 11, and it is fetched in the line buffer 3 as a synthesized image signal (h). A synthesized image signal (i) modulates a transmission image signal (k) in order by a communication control signal 19 at a modem 9 through a coding part 4, and a line buffer 8, and transmits it to a line.
