PURPOSE:To constantly display, for instance, a data signal on the cornenr of a monitor by changing the position for superimposing the data signal on a video signal and displaying according to the selection for setting at least a part of the data signal or not. CONSTITUTION:During a reproducing mode, when heads 3-1, 3-2 are moved on a new track, the data signal ID reproduced by a data demodulator 12 is demodulated and a CPU40 holds the read ID in a RAM27. The CPU40 controls a character generator 84 so as to make the generating positiopns of the character different between when only the data as the ID is set and when the date and other numeric character data are set display the ID at the right and lower corner on the monitor 13. The information of the ID is constantly displayed on the right and lower corner of the screen of the monitor which does not obstruct the video signal.
