PURPOSE:To enhance printing quality by setting the hammering to the same position of an ink ribbon to max. to times, by making the moving speed of the ink ribbon faster than that of a hammer. CONSTITUTION:When an ink ribbon 3 and a hammer 11 are same in a moving direction, a dot printing hammer 11 moves to the left at a speed Vs so as to pass positions h1, h2, h3 and is controlled so that a ribbon base cloth part impacted by the first printing is positioned left from the position shown by r3, that is, the printing position when said hammer 1 reaches the printing position h3. Whereupon, the ribbon base cloth part is impacted only at a part of the printing positions h1, h2 and the number of times of the hammering to the same area of the ink ribbon 3 come to two times. For the sake of this, the moving speed Vr of the ink ribbon 3 may be made faster by {1+D/(2Px)} (wherein D is the dot diameter of the printing hammer 11 and Px is a dot pitch printed) than the moving speed of the hammer 11. |
