PURPOSE:To make it possible to find a erroneous setting or inferior connection by judging whether a serial transmission between a remote controller and air conditioners is normal or abnormal by transmission monitoring means, and displaying the number of air conditioners judged to be normal. CONSTITUTION:An operation instruction is transmitted from a control circuit 6 of a remote controller 1 through a transmission buffer 3 and a transmission line 8 to respective air conditioners. Respective air conditioners 9b...9n receive the instruction at the transmission buffers 10, and starts the operations in a sequence of unit addresses set by means of address setters 11. Simultaneously air conditioners 9b...9n transmit operation data in the set address sequence through the transmission line 8 to a transmission buffer 3. The remote controller 1 judges whether data sequentially transmitted are normal or abnormal by a transmission monitoring device 7, and the number of air conditioners judged to be normal is counted by a counter 5. The content of the counter 5 is displayed on a numeral indicator 2 by a display changeover switch 4.
