PURPOSE:To hold the reliability of communication and the efficiency of data multiplexing by setting a multiframe which is the least common multiple of a multiframe number where a multiplexing speed which is not matched with one transmission frame is matched. CONSTITUTION:A transmission frame composed of an error correction code with variable word length processes various multiplexing speeds unitedly with a multiframe structure set to the least common multiple of the multiframe number matched with a multiplexing speed, and enables a high-level communica tion with header information and a control data link. Thus while high efficiency and high reliability are secure, data are multiplexed with the simple constitution. Further, a transmission frame pull-in time is shortened by the bit error permis sible type pattern matching of multiframe synchronizing bits.
