PURPOSE:To make a power transistor a small capacity by suppressing a rush current which is fed to a sel-motor at the time of starting an engine to be low, in a device for backing a vehicle body by means of the turning force of said sel-motor for starting an engine. CONSTITUTION:When a driver presses a back switch BS at the time of traveling backward, an exciting current is fed from a storage battery BT to the coil C2 of a reversing relay R. Also, the positive side power source terminal Ta of a chopper control circuit 5 is connected to the positive side terminal of the battery BT via the reversing relay R, and a pulse signal which is set by a variable resistor VR is fed to the base of a power transistor Tr. Then, a current (In) in the reverse direction is fed intermittently from the battery BT to a sel-motor M. In this case, a rush current which flows into the sel-motor M is suppressed to be low by a current restricting resistor (r). Also, by adjusting the variable resistor VR, a pulse signal is adjusted, to regulate the rotating speed of the sel-motor M.
