PURPOSE:To always obtain the optimum injection quantity characteristic by installing a locator for turning the first barrel into which a small-diameter plunger moves in sliding onto a pump body and permitting the injection quantity in the low load region to be adjusted from outside the pump body by the locator. CONSTITUTION:When a small-diameter plunger 3 is raised to close the first cut-off port 19a of the first barrel 5a, the combustion pressure in the first high pressure chamber 8a increases to open the first feeding valve 11a. Then, the high pressure fuel is sent into an injection valve from the first fuel outlet 10a, and the first cut-off port 19a is opened to the first reed 22a, and the feed under pressure is completed. Though, in this case, the injection quantity is adjusted by operating a control rack 18, said adjustment with low loading is carried out by a locator 24. In other words, the installation bolts 32 of the locator 24 are loosened, and an eccentric pin 28 is turned, having the locator body 25 as fulcrum, and the relative position between the first cut-off port 19a and the first reed 22a is varied.
