PURPOSE:To improve a storage efficiency by detecting one record completion mark using an undefined data compression code in inputted compression data and outputting extension data obtained from the compression data until then as one record. CONSTITUTION:A compression data extension mechanism part 1 extends the compression data inputted through a data input line 2 according to an extension rule and outputs through an extension data output line 3. When the one record completion mark using the undefined compression code which does not conform to the extension rule is inputted in the compression data, a record completion detecting signal is outputted to a detection signal line 4 and the one record completion mark is outputted to an undefined data output line 5. The comparison arithmetic part 11 inputs the detection signal of the output line 4, the mark of the output line 5 is compared with the record completion mark data of data inputted from a set data input line 9 and when they coincide, the record completion detecting signal is outputted to a detecting signal output line 12. A completion informing control part 13 outputs the one record completion signal and an entire record completion signal to the output lines 14, 15 to improve the storage efficiency.
