PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce a top margin of a paper in slip printing while using a front inserter, by providing a first lever and a second lever to constitute a lever part for a paper bail, providing the first lever with a guide groove and providing the second lever with a pin and a pawl. CONSTITUTION:When printing a slip paper by mounting a front inserter, a second lever 4 is drawn upward, whereby a pawl 6 and a pin 5 are also moved upward along an outside end surface of a first lever 1 and a guide groove 3. When a pawl 6 comes beyond the upper end of the lever 1, the lever 4 having been capable of only vertical movements becomes able to be turned with the pin 5 as a fulcrum, and when the pin 5 is located at the upper end of the guide groove 3, a roller shaft 7 fixedly supported on the lever 4 and a roller 8 thereon are turningly retracted so that they are located on the rear side of a platen 10. Under this condition, a paper-feeding roller part 13 of the front inserter 12 is located in a space in which the roller shaft 7 and the roller 8 are located before the retraction.
