PURPOSE:To conduct the dusts in the in-taken air to a groove to exhaust them out of a negative pressure slider by forming the said groove in the air intake surface of a negative pressure generating surface and along the boundary between the negative pressure generating surface and a positive pressure generating surface. CONSTITUTION:Of a negative pressure slider 10 consisting of the air intake surface 1 and the negative pressure generating surface 3 surrounded by the positive pressure generating surface 2, 2, the groove 4 whose depth is longer than that of the surface 3 is provided in the surface 3 and along the boundary between the surface 3 and the surface 1 and the surface 2, 2. During the time of floating of the slider 10, the air taken in from the surface 1 is expanded by the surface 3. At this time, the dusts in the air are exhausted out of the slider 1 from an air outlet 5 by an air flow flowing from the surface through the groove 4. As a result, the dusts in the air are prevented from accumulating at the split-level part between the surface 3 and the surface 1. Therefore, a stable recording/reproducing of information can be executed.
