PURPOSE:To promote the compactness of a device while to improve its response characteristic, by containing a fluid pressure pump, which is driven by relatively rotating input and output shafts, and a sliding clutch, which engages the both shafts by the delivery fluid pressure of said pump, in a case integrally rotating with the input shaft. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a device applied to a transfer gear 3 of a four- wheel driven vehicle, a rear case 31 is fitted to the outside of a front case 30, connected by a spline with an input shaft 13 of said gear 3, and an oil pump body 33 is provided interposing between the both cases 30, 31. While a sliding clutch 40 and an oil pump 60 are juxtaposed spacing a cylinder 32 between the second output shaft 18 and the cases 30, 31, and said pump 60 is constituted into an inscribed gear type containing a driving gear, engaged by a spline with the second output shaft 18, and a driven gear rotatably fitted to the inside of the body 33. And the device, which changes a delivery oil pressure of the oil pump 60 by a difference between rotary speeds of the input and output shafts 13, 18 to be introduced to the clutch 40 through a communication hole 32b formed in the cylinder 32, controls the engagement of the clutch.
