PURPOSE:To omit switching programs and to simplify the constitution of programs by reading out a switching state by a control means at the time of turning on a power supply switch and starting one of the programs in accordance with the state. CONSTITUTION:When the power supply switch for a system 1 is turned on, a CPU 2 transfers an OS to an OS storage area 10 in a memory 3 in accordance with a boot program in an external storage device 4 and an initializing program. The initializing program is executed and whether the information of an input terminal 7 started by an initial operation setting table 12 is described in a flag 17 or not is decided. When the decision is YES and the described contents are 'S', an OS operation available state is obtained and displayed and the system is turned to a command input waiting state. The OS processing is advanced by inputting a prescribed command.
