PURPOSE:To form a device convenient to use by providing a work area for graphic display that holds input data to a RAM for display and a graphic display interpreting section that interprets a curved line in the area as a curved line of minimum unit that does not include intersections with other lines. CONSTITUTION:In a graphic editing device provided with a RAM for display 1, a graphic display generator 2 and a display section 3, three curved lines, (a), (b), (c), for which plural passing points are designated, are drawn in a working area 5 for displaying graphic. Under this condition, for instance, the central part of the curved line (b) is designated, and a command to delete the curved line (b) is given, a graphic display interpreting section 6 examines the content of the area 5, forms graphic display information and transfers to the RAM 1. Thereby, it is made possible to erase only a part between intersections with other curved lines (a), (c) out of the curved line (b) and make both end parts not erased.
