PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of roundness in machining a work by measuring the out of roundness of the work and obtaining out of roundness correcting data, thereby making an out of roundness compensating subprogram, and then incorporating it into a main program. CONSTITUTION:After machining of a work is completed according to a main program, next machining is performed. In this case, out of roundness measuring data is divided by every 4 deg. if it is 0 deg.+ or -20 deg. and by every 20 deg. if it is other than that, on the basis that the access point of a cutter is the starting point (0 deg.). The magnification of the measurement is set about 100. Next, an idealized circle is drawn right in the center between obtained large and small circles, and a measured circle B, wherein influence of brade's run out and the like of the cutter is eliminated from the out of roundness data, is made. Then, difference of data between the out of roundness data of the measured circle B and the data of the idealized circle is measured by + or - level at every respective dividing lines. Thus, an out of roundness data correcting subprogram is made according to the measured data and then incorporated into the main program, and the out of roundness of a crank shaft mirror is thereby corrected.
