INGOT DRAWING DEVICE OF VACUUM MELTING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To specially shut off a melting chamber and drawing chamber until the drawing of an ingot is started by providing a sealing part to the prescribed part of a dummy bar, and providing the aperture part which can engage hermetically therewith to the outlet side of the melting chamber or the inlet side of the drawing chamber. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal is cast into a casting mold 3 provided to the melting chamber 1 of a vacuum melting furnace in which chamber the degree of vacuum is maintained under about 10<-2>-10<-5>torr. The resultant ingot 7 is continuously drawn by using the dummy bar 4 into the drawing chamber 2 in which about 10<0>-10<-1>torr degree of vacuum is maintained. The sealing part having a sealing member 5 is provided to the prescribed part of the dummy bar 4 of the above-mentioned ingot drawing device. On the other hand, an open part 6 to serve as a sealing part which can engage hermetically with said sealing part is formed to the inlet side of the drawing chamber 2. The melting chamber 1 is thereby spacially shielded from the drawing chamber 2 at the timing when a clearance C exists between the dummy bar 4 and the casting mold 3 until the drawing of the ingot 7 is started, The evacuation to a vacuum is thus facilitated and the productivity is improved.
