PURPOSE:To obtain a high filler compsn. having excellent flexibility, heat distortion resistance and adhesion and suitable for use as a structural material for sound insulating sheets, vibration damping materials, etc., by blending a thermoplastic styrene elastomer with a thermoplastic styrene/butadiene copolymer resin, a thermoplastic resin, an inorg. filler and a solftener and kneading the mixture. CONSTITUTION:This high filler compsn. is formed by blending 40-80pts.wt. thermoplastic styrene elastomer (1) having a bonded styrene content of 10-50wt% with 20-60pts.wt. thermoplastic styrene/butadiene copolymer resin (2) having a bonded styrene content of 60-90wt%, 0-50pts.wt. thermoplastic resin (3), 200-800pts.wt. inorg. filler (4) and 10-200pts.wt. softener (5) and kneading the mixture. It has a hardness Hs (JIS) of 50-95 and a specific gravity of 1.6-2.5. Preferred examples of the thermoplastic resin are polyphenylene oxide and polypropylene. Preferred examples of the inorg. filler are calcium carbonate, talc, clay and barium sulfate. Examples of the softener are asphalt, aromatic oil, etc.
