PURPOSE:To conveniently obtain the title calcium tertiary phosphate in a small number of stages by using an alcohol compatible with water or a mixture of the alcohol and water as a solvent, dissolving a soluble inorg. compd. of calcium and an org. compd. of phosphorus into the solvent, and spraying the obtained soln. into a flame or a heating zone. CONSTITUTION:An alcohol compatible with water or a mixture of the alcohol and water is used as a solvent, and a soluble inorg. compd. of calcium and an org. compd. of phosphorus is mixed and dissolved into the solvent. Aq. ammonia and/or an amine soluble in the obtained soln. is then added to make the medium neutral or weakly alkaline, and the raw soln. is obtained. The raw soln. is sprayed into a flame or a heating zone to carry out a thermal decomposition reaction. The powder obtained by the thermal decomposition reaction is further heated at various temps. (>=400 deg.C). Consequently, an alpha-type crystal system or a beta-type crystal system can be selected, and the various characteristics such as the reactivity of the powder, degree of crystal growth, and coefficient of contraction can be controlled.
