PURPOSE:To efficiently damp a torsional vibration from a crankshaft with no necessity for forming a pulley in a large size, by forming recessed notches on surfaces of an inertia ring while protrusive dams in internal surfaces of a housing in positions, mutually opposed to said notches, further fine holes penetrating through the protrusive dams. CONSTITUTION:An inertia ring 4 is vibrated by rotation of an engine, and viscous fluid 5 (silicon oil) is fluidized by the vibration of the ring 4. However, protrusive dams 7 are provided in internal walls of a housing 3 mutually opposed to recessed notches 6 provided in the inertia ring 4, and since a fine hole 8 penetrates through the center of the protrusive dam 7, it is necessary to pass through a slight clearance or the fine hole 8 for the viscous fluid 5 to move over said flow path dam. Here the vibration can be substantially damped and relaxed by receiving large flow friction due to an orifice effect. Accordingly, a torsional vibration from a crankshaft can be efficiently damped with no necessity for forming a pulley in a large size.
