PURPOSE:To assort baggages by arrived flight, seat classification and seat position so as to shorten receiving time by providing plural loop-shaped receiving conveyors at baggage receiving area in an airport and connecting an assorting machine provided with a diverter to it. CONSTITUTION:A group of baggages 1 from flight No.J001 and U010 are transported to a loading place of conveyors 3a, 3b and then laid on the conveyors 3a, 3b by the staff 2. And a company name, a flight name, seat classification and a name are read from an attached tag by a tag reader 5 at a baggage tag reading position 4 and input into a center processing device to devide their destination after assortment. Next the baggage 1a is sent to an assorting machine 9 by conveyors 8a, 8b after passing by the reading position 4 and shifts on the upper step b belt part 10 in the a direction and an the lower step belt part 10b in the b direction and when it reaches the specified position, a diverter 11 rotates to let it fall onto a chute 12. Next the baggage is sent to conveyors 13a-13c or 13d-13f by the flight and it flows on a conveyor until the pick up by a passenger 14 and receiving time is shortened.
