PURPOSE:To prevent sag for the upper wall of a bumper surface by providing a fixture adapted for connecting respective connecting flanges of a bumper center portion and a bumper side portion and composed of a inch portion for pinching both flanges and abutment portions to be brought in abutment with the upper wall of the bumper surface adjacent to notches formed at the upper ends of the flanges. CONSTITUTION:A bumper surface includes a bumper center portion 3 and a bumper side portion 4 which are integrally connected through a fixture 20. In this case, the fixture 20 is made of metal and is composed of a pinch portion 21 being of substantially U shaped configuration in cross section with upper and lower bolt insertion holes and adapted for pinching respective flanges 7, 8 of the bumper center portion 3 and the bumper side portion 4, and abutment portions 22 extending horizontally outwardly from the upper ends of the pinch portion 21 to be brought in abutment with upper walls 14, 15 adjacent to notches 18, 19 in the flanges 7, 8. Thus constructed, sag in the upper walls 14, 15 at hardening of the bumper surface is prevented by the notches 18, 19, and downward deflection of the upper walls 14, 15 at hardening of the bumper surface is prevented by the notches 18, 19, and downward deflection of the upper walls 14, 15 due to secular change after assembling is prevented by the abutment portions 22.
