PURPOSE:To improve operability for opening and closing an open roof by constituting the system wherein a seat back is inclined prior to the opening and the closing of the roof, and returned to an erect condition after the opening and closing operation, when the open roof is being operated for the opening and closing thereof. CONSTITUTION:An open roof 11 comprising a hard member to cover the upper side of an automobile cabin 2 is divided into a front part 12 covering the front part of the cabin 2 and a rear part 13 covering the rear part of the cabin 2, and made to move between open and close positions with a roof drive device. A roof storage part 3 for housing said open roof 11 is formed to the rear side of a rear seat 42 and the seat back 42a of the rear seat 42 tiltable forward is moved in an inclined condition with a seat drive device. In this case, when the open roof 11 is being opened and closed, each of said devices is so controlled as to incline the seat back 42 prior to the opening/closing operation and return the seat back 42 to an erect condition after the finish of said operation.
