PURPOSE:To prevent plastic material from sticking by fusion to the interior of a grinding device and consequently realize the device with favorable grinding efficiency by a method wherein the plastic material is ground under coexistence in the device with liquid the boiling point of which is lower than the melting point of the plastic material. CONSTITUTION:Under the once of plastic material to be gound with cooling liquid within a grinding device, the heat developed by grinding is removed by utilizing the latent heat of evaporation of the cooling liquid. A liquid which substantially does not dissolve the plastic material to be ground and the boiling point of which is lower than the melting point of the plastic material and preferably which has low toxicity, a little corrosiveness, large latent heat of evaporation and boiling point lying within the range of 50-100 deg.C when usual plastic material is ground is used as the cooling liquid. Thus, because the temperature of ground plastic matter can be efficiently lowered, no fusion between individual particles occurs.
