PURPOSE:To increase the chip area of an integrated circuit and to reduce the power consumption by increasing a GND potential of an I<2>L logic section by nearly 0.3V more than the GND potential therearound so as to eliminate the need for a resistive element. CONSTITUTION:With an input IN reaching an H level, a transistor (TR) 2 is turned on and a TR 3 is turned off. On the other hand, with the input IN going to an L level, the TR 2 is turned off and the TR 3 is turned on. In this case, since the potential of the GND2 is floated higher than the GND by nearly 0.3V, the potential difference of the emitter-collector of a TR 4 differs nearly from the same degree. Thus, a collector current nearly equal to an emitter current is obtained without saturation. Since the base current of the TR 3 is designed to be equal to the emitter current of the TR 4, it is not required to provide a large resistance between a power supply Vcc and the base of the TR 3.
