PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a crack in a weld zone at the time of welding a carbon steel or low carbon steel and austenitic stainless steel stud by disposing a high Ni alloy or high Ni-high Cr alloy to the top end of the stud. CONSTITUTION:The high Ni alloy or high Ni-high Cr alloy 3 is disposed to the top end of the austenitic stainless steel stud material 1 and the stud is welded to a base metal 2. The weld metal of the alloy forms martensite structure if the contents of Cr and Ni at the top end part thereof are adjusted. The decrease of the bending ductility of the stud body and the increase of the low-temp. crack sensitivity occurring in hydrogen are thereby prevented. The good weld zone is thud obtd. if stud welding is executed by using the material 3 to be disposed at the top end such as SUS310, 'Inconel(R)' or Ni to the SUS304 stud even if high-grade stud materials such as SUS309 and SUS310 are not used.
