PURPOSE:To increase the pressure variation in a container, by performing an acceleration test by the high temp. and high pressure steam in the container having an article to be inspected received therein, and condensing and liquefying steam by the cooling fluid of the cooling pipe arranged in the container to lower the pressure in the container. CONSTITUTION:The water on the bottom part of a container 2 is heated by a first heater 5 to form high temp. and high pressure steam. An inner cylinder 3 smaller than the container 2 and having an article 11 to be inspected received therein is provided in the container 2 and, further, a stirring blade 7 stirring the gas in the container 2 and second heaters 4, 10 are provided at the end part of the container 2 and a cooling pipe is arranged in the space between the heater 5 and the lower part of the inner cylinder 3. After an environmental test is performed in high temp. and high pressure steam for a predetermined time, a cooling fluid is passed through the cooling pipe. Whereupon, steam is condensed and liquefied and the pressure in the container 2 is abruptly lowered. As mentioned above, by a mechanism not discharging steam to the outside, the load of the heater can be reduced and the pressure variation in the container can be increased.
