PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition having remarkably excellent cut resistance and chipping resistance and especially useful for tread of a heavy-duty tire, by compounding a natural rubber and/or a synthetic rubber with a specific cyclopentadiene resin having hydroxyl group. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100pts.(wt.) of a natural rubber and/or synthetic rubber with (B) 1-30pts. of a hydroxyl-containing cyclopentadiene resin produced by the thermal polymerization of (i) 100pts. of one or more kinds of compounds selected from the compound of formula (R is 1-3C alkyl; m is 0-6) having cyclopentadiene ring and its Diels-Alder addition, product, preferably cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene, etc., and (ii) 2-120pts. of a compound having polymerizable double bond and hydroxyl group in a molecule, e.g. 3-22C unsaturated (dihydric) alcohol or hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, preferably ally alcohol etc. |
