PURPOSE:To obtain both spark advance characteristic and spark retardation characteristic with a simple structure, by connecting an integrating capacitor in a third integrating circuit, between the output terminals of a comparator for comparing first and second integrated voltages. CONSTITUTION:An ignition device is composed of an ignition circuit 4 and a control circuit for controlling a transistor 3. A first integrating circuit 8 conducts initial integration by which the terminal voltage of a first integrating capacitor 8a is initially charged, and additional integration for additional charge. A second integrating circuit 9 conducts integration by which a second integrating capacitor 9a is charged. An integrating capacitor 12a in a third integrating circuit 12 is connected between the output terminals of a comparator 11 for comparing first and second integrated voltages, and when the terminal voltage of the integrating capacitor 12a reaches a predetermined level, a signal for determining the position of ignition is delivered. Thus, it is possible to obtain both spark advance characteristic and spark retardation characteristic with a simple structure.
