PURPOSE:To prevent the degrading of performance of an image pickup element caused by a base plate glass and an adhesive by covering a specified place of an image pickup part with an opaque film. CONSTITUTION:The opaque film 3 is fixed in the specified place in the bottom surface 2 of a block 1 having a vacuum chucking function by means of vacuum adsorption, and on the surface of the film, the adhesive 4 is applied. At the time when this block 1 is adhered to the image pickup surface end 6 of the solid-state image pickup element 5, the opaque film 3 is adhered to the element 5 with use of the adhesive 4, after thus fixing the film 3, the vacuum adsorption is stopped to separate the opaque film 3 from the block. 1. In such a way, the specified place of the image pickup part is shielded against light with use of the opaque film.
