PURPOSE:To save the amount of polishing work on a nozzle diaphragm, by doing the work previously blocking its water drain groove with a rubber pipe which has been inserted therein and expanded. CONSTITUTION:A rubber pipe 4 is inserted in the water drain groove 3 of a nozzle diaphragm 1, air being fed afterwards from a supply port 5, expanding said pipe 4 to block said groove 3. The whole surface of the diaphragm is polished and cleaned with abrasive by a blasting equipment 6. By the above method, the abrasive will not remain in said drain groove 3 not requiring removing work thereof, and the amount of the work can be saved.
