PURPOSE:To remarkably shorten the time required for displaying an optional point on a drawing, etc., on a graphic display device, after said point has been designated by a cursor, etc., by interposing a coordinate converter of an extremely rational constitution between the graphic display device and a graphic input device. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate converter 6 is interposed between a graphic display device 2 and a graphic input device 3. This coordinate converter 6 is provided with a parameter setting part 7 for setting a parameter in the case of converting a coordinate by a command from a host computer 1, and a converting part 8 for calculating a coordinate signal from the graphic input device 3 by using the parameter, and converting it to an absolute coordinate system conforming to a processing in the host computer. The coordinate which is sent to the host computer 1 from the coordinate converter 6 is coordinate of an absolute coordinate system, therefore, it can be displayed on a CRT5, etc., by executing a prescribed processing as it is in a control part 4, and a command from the host computer 1 becomes unnecessary.
