PURPOSE:To automatically correct an oblique travel of a paper sheet regardless of its thickness, by simultaneously regulating an interval of one of rollers and an interval of one of guide plates in front of the rollers in a device for correcting an oblique travel of the paper sheet by a convex-shaped roller for gripping a paper sheet at a point and for feeding it and a stopping plate. CONSTITUTION:A fixed guides 24, 18 and a movable guide 20 are disposed between a convex-shaped drive roller 16 and a pressure roller 17 for feeding a paper sheet from a direction A. The roller 17 moves together with the movable guide 20. When the paper sheet 27 comes to the position of the rollers 16, 17, a magnet 25 is deenergized so that the force of a spring 22 causes the rollers 16, 17 to clamp the paper sheet 27. At the same time, the roller 16 rotates so that the paper sheet 27 is fed by the rollers 16, 21 and its oblique travel is corrected by the stopping surface of a stopper 23. The roller 16 projects a little from a guide 24 and the roller 17 from a guide a little so that the guide 20 and the roller 12 move vertically in accordance with the thickness of the paper sheet 27. With the arrangement, buckling is prevented regardless of a paper shect, whereby an oblique travel can be automatically prevented.
