PURPOSE:To obtain Ni plating having satisfactory adhesion by heating Ni-plated Al (alloy) to a prescribed temp. to form an intermetallic compound on the plating interface. CONSTITUTION:Al or an Al alloy is plated with Ni. This Ni-coated Al (alloy) is heated to 250 deg.C-the m.p. of the Al (alloy) base to form an intermetallic compound on the plating interface. Thus, the Ni of the Ni-coated Al (alloy) adheres firmly to the Al (alloy) base and Ni plating having high reliability is formed.
