PURPOSE:To shorten a radio line connecting time by investigating the use frequency of a radio wave, and decreasing the number of radio channels, if the use frequency is low for some prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A control part 10 of a connecting device 1 sets the number of channels N to an initial value NO, when a power source is ON, and sets a timer. Subsequently, the channel is switched in order from the channel 1 to the channel N, the number of channels M of the channel which is being used is counted, and in case it is <=K continuously for a prescribed time, the number of channels N is decreased and a channel number signal is sent out to a telephone set 101. Also, after the number of channels N is decreased, if the number of channels M of the channel which is being used is >=K, the number of channels N is increased to the initial value NO, and the channel number signal is sent out to the telephone set 101. In such a way, if the use frequency is low for some prescribed time, the number of radio channels is decreased, and the time for connecting a radio line is shortened.
